Ping and Mizuno Demo Day

This Friday, October 5th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm Fieldstone Golf Club will host a joint demo day with both Ping and Mizuno.  Both manufacturers will have their latest and greatest equipment for trial and testing.  For those of you seeking the ultimate in forgiveness from your irons the golf professional staff strongly suggests trying the new Mizuno JPX 800 HD irons.  For those seeking more distance off the tee and from the fairway we strongly suggest trying Ping's first ever line of adjustable metals, the Anser Driver and Fairway Woods.  The golf shop is taking appointments for fittings every half hour.  Call the shop today to book your personalized fitting slot. 

 

 

Coming Soon: New Ping Woods Released, Anser & Serene

 

Ping has released two new lines of drivers and metal woods.  The new Anser line is performance engineered with the ability to adjust the loft of the clubhead plus or minus 1/2 degree prior to your round.  The body of the traditionally shaped 460cc head is centrifugally cast into a complex, variable-thickness geometry from Ti 8-1-1, a light, low-density alloy, which yields extra weight that is redistributed to increase MOI on both axes.  This increase in MOI provides more stability on off-center hits and allows you to hit more fairways even on your less than perfect swings.

 

The Serene line features a center of gravity position that is lower and farther back to help generate a high launch and low spin trajectory that increases carry distance and roll out. An expanded clubface made of Ti 6-4 inspires confidence and produces a big increase in MOI to maintain distance and accuracy on mis-hits.

The professional staff will be securing a Fall Demo Day date with Ping in the near future so you may try all the new technology and take your game to a new level heading into the winter!

Junior Masters Golf Camp

Junior Masters Camp a Success!

Our junior golfers enjoyed a fun week of instruction, games and lots of on course play!

Pictured above is one of our new games in this year's camp, cow pasture pool.  This game combines strategy, teamwork and strong putting fundamentals that make for a great time for all juniors.

Fieldstone 9th at Merion Junior Invitational

On Saturday, April 28th Merion Golf Club hosted the 27th Annual Pamela Emory Fox Merion Junior Invitational.  This event features a fine test of 18 holes of golf on Merion's West Course in addition to a USGA Rules Test which factors into the team score as well.  Fieldstone Golf Club was represented very well once again this year finishing in 9th place out of 24 total teams, with a score of 262.  The year's team consisted of Joe Tigani, Dan Walsh, Brandan Bree and Emily Cziraky.  Individually Joe Tigani placed 15th overall with a score of 79.  A big congratulations for a great finish to these fine young junior players!

Rules of the Week

Rule 14-2

Standing on Extension of Line of Play or Line of Putt

Q.  My opponent or fellow-competitor always stands behind me while I am playing a stroke? Isn`t this a penalty?

A.  Rule 14-2b only prohibits a player from allowing his partner or their caddies from standing in this position. While it may be a breach of Etiquette, there is no penalty under the Rules. A solution is to politely ask your opponent or fellow-competitor to move to one side or the other. (Rule 14-2b) Definition - Line of Play: The "line of play" is the direction that the player wishes his ball to take after a stroke, plus a reasonable distance on either side of the intended direction.
