Rule 14-2

Standing on Extension of Line of Play or Line of Putt

Q.  My opponent or fellow-competitor always stands behind me while I am playing a stroke? Isn`t this a penalty?

A.  Rule 14-2b only prohibits a player from allowing his partner or their caddies from standing in this position. While it may be a breach of Etiquette, there is no penalty under the Rules. A solution is to politely ask your opponent or fellow-competitor to move to one side or the other. (Rule 14-2b) Definition - Line of Play: The "line of play" is the direction that the player wishes his ball to take after a stroke, plus a reasonable distance on either side of the intended direction. The Men's and Ladies Tradition Cup qualifying is scheduled for this Saturday, April 21st.  This event is Fieldstone's fourball club championship.  After the stroke play qualifier the eight qualifying teams will be seeded for match play.  Sign up under the upcoming events tab at www.fieldstonegolf.com.

With the excitement of the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA this week the golf shop is once again offering you a chance to win $250 in golf shop credit.  For those wishing to take part simply sign up on our board in the golf shop (call in entries are accepted).  At the conclusion of Saturday's 3rd round we will randomly select a player from the top 10 in the field and assign them to you.  If your player wins the Masters you win $250 in golf shop credit.  What a great way to start the season and help pay for those new clubs!  Only $25 to enter and you may enter as many times as you like.
