The two most popular golf balls in golf have some significant changes in their latest 2017 edition that has just hit the golf market. In the past the ProV1x was known as the lower spinning version that was better for those golfers seeking extra distance off of the tee. The older editions of the ProV1 used to then offer golfers more spin on their approach shots into the green and in the short game.
The newer 2017 models of these golf balls feature the following differences.
ProV1 - Offers golfers a slightly lower trajectory and less spin than ProV1x. This ball is best for golfers that are looking for increased distance via some extra roll out off of their tee shots. It also features a slightly softer cover than the ProV1x for extra feel around the greens.
ProV1x - Offers golfers a higher trajectory on tee shots and a more consistent flight than previous generation golf balls. This golf ball will offer slightly more spin on approach shots into the green than the ProV1.
It should also be noted that both the ProV1 and ProV1x golf balls will travel within 3 to 5 yards of each other regardless which ball a golfer plays. Both balls dimple patterns have been updated this year to offer golfers a more consistent ball flight than previous generations.
