Junior Masters Camp a Success!

Our junior golfers enjoyed a fun week of instruction, games and lots of on course play!

Pictured above is one of our new games in this year's camp, cow pasture pool.  This game combines strategy, teamwork and strong putting fundamentals that make for a great time for all juniors.

Fieldstone 9th at Merion Junior Invitational

On Saturday, April 28th Merion Golf Club hosted the 27th Annual Pamela Emory Fox Merion Junior Invitational.  This event features a fine test of 18 holes of golf on Merion's West Course in addition to a USGA Rules Test which factors into the team score as well.  Fieldstone Golf Club was represented very well once again this year finishing in 9th place out of 24 total teams, with a score of 262.  The year's team consisted of Joe Tigani, Dan Walsh, Brandan Bree and Emily Cziraky.  Individually Joe Tigani placed 15th overall with a score of 79.  A big congratulations for a great finish to these fine young junior players!

Rule 14-2

Standing on Extension of Line of Play or Line of Putt

Q.  My opponent or fellow-competitor always stands behind me while I am playing a stroke? Isn`t this a penalty?

A.  Rule 14-2b only prohibits a player from allowing his partner or their caddies from standing in this position. While it may be a breach of Etiquette, there is no penalty under the Rules. A solution is to politely ask your opponent or fellow-competitor to move to one side or the other. (Rule 14-2b) Definition - Line of Play: The "line of play" is the direction that the player wishes his ball to take after a stroke, plus a reasonable distance on either side of the intended direction. The Men's and Ladies Tradition Cup qualifying is scheduled for this Saturday, April 21st.  This event is Fieldstone's fourball club championship.  After the stroke play qualifier the eight qualifying teams will be seeded for match play.  Sign up under the upcoming events tab at www.fieldstonegolf.com.
